ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
The American Democracy Institute is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization comprised of a network of emerging leaders from various fields including business, academia, nonprofit, government, and more.
We bring together accomplished leaders who combine high-performance enterprise with thoughtful public-minded citizenship to share their experience with the next generation of leaders in order to strengthen our democracy.
Developing Public Leaders
America is undergoing a generational transfer of public leadership. The transfer of power, both dramatic and subtle, is reshaping how we operate as a democracy and driving profound social change in our country. This rising generation is instilled with an extraordinary sense of purpose, and a desire to effect change. These individuals aspire to increase their own leadership responsibilities yet recognize that the traditional model of leadership development is insufficient and outdated for their generation.
ADI's Programs
ADI convenes summits, workshops, and other events around the country as a gateway for thousands of young people to begin their active engagement with American democracy. Click here to view our current and past events.

The Women's Leadership Program
ADI is committed to ensuring a greater diversity of public leadership and is launching the Women's Mentoring Program to empower an emerging generation of women leaders.
While traditional mentoring programs pair rising leaders with experienced professionals for the purpose of advancement within a specific field, ADI's program exposes mentors and fellows to a network of peers and prominent individuals, and promotes collaboration across generations.
Program Launch - Conference on Women's Leadership
The Women's Leadership Program will launch with our inaugural Conference on Women's Leadership on December 1st, 2009 in Washington, D.C. Emerging women leaders will take part in workshops, hear from prominent leaders, and collaborate on projects and challenges with their peers during the event. Women leaders from all fields will discuss current leadership challenges that are especially pertinent to women today. The Conference is an annual event that will serve as a launch and graduation for incoming and exiting groups of participants.
